There is a lot of work required just to get the strategic sourcing decision made and the arrangement set-up. To paraphrase Winston Churchill, the UK world war leader all this work, however is “not the end of the matter – not even the beginning of the end – only the end of the beginning!” Performance management, along with relationship management, is the science – and the art – of realising the full value from strategic sourcing arrangements.
This course outlines the core principles of supplier performance management. It explains the need to clarify the obligations and the expectations of the parties; and considers common obligations that appear in sourcing contracts. The course goes on to discuss how to identify the key deliverables that support expected performance.
The types of performance metrics are explored, and examples are given of each type enabling learners to understand how to develop effective metrics.
Along with developing an understanding of how to design effective measures the course also shows learners the vitally important skill of how to critically review performance and take action to address issues or to improve performance.
There is a downloadable Study Guide containing post course test questions to check the learner has picked up key information. The Study Guide also contains a set of work-based learning questions that will support the transfer of their learning from the course into the workplace and enable their further development.
